How To Make Copycat McDonald’s Fish Filet Sandwich

McDonald’s is famous for its fish fillet sandwich, the only problem being, it’s not offered on their menu all year long. Well, here’s some good news for you! You can make it in your home whenever you please. Fish lovers, you can thank us later!

How To Make Copycat McDonald’s Fish Filet Sandwich

A nicely done copycat version that tastes like the original at McDonald’s It’s got a flavored fish patty and that special tasty tartar sauce.

Serves: 4 people


Fish Fillet

  • 4 boneless Alaskan Pollock
  • 2 egg whites
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • salt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • breadcrumbs

Tartar Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp onion, minced
  • ¼ cup sweet relish
  • 2 tsp half and half
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 10 capers, minced
  • ½ tsp lemon juice
  •  tsp sugar

Extra Toppings

  • 4 hamburger bun
  • 4 slice American cheese


Fish Fillet:

  1. Get your frying pan ready and set your stove to a medium heat.
  2. Wash the fish, then marinate it in lemon juice and salt for 5 minutes.
  3. While you are letting it marinate beat the egg whites in a bowl until they are foamy.
  4. Add salt, pepper and flour.
  5. Mix well, if needed add more water.
  6. Your fish should be done by now, so go ahead and place your fish slice into the egg white mixture you just created.
  7. Remove from egg white mixture and dip in breadcrumbs.
  8. Make sure the whole fish is covered.
  9. Place into the frying pan after the fish is ready.
  10. Remove once the piece is golden brown.
  11. If you need more servings follow the same instructions with as many fish fillets as needed.

Tartar Sauce:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Mix until well-combined

Arranging the sandwich:

  1. Half the sandwich bun and place the fish fillet in-between. Add the tartar sauce and the American cheese.
  2. You’re now ready to serve.
